In 1999, after
20 years of training and competing off and on in power lifting,
I decided to try a bodybuilding show. My first attempt was an embarrassment!
I had no idea what I was doing and any advice I got was sketchy
at best.
Fortunately for me, I managed to make third in the Masters and
qualify for the nationals in Edmonton. Also, fortunately for me,
that's when I met Ron.
With only 10 weeks to go he managed to help me look like a totally
different person at the same bodyweight as in my first show. Although
I was just hoping to look respectable and redeem myself, I ended
up second in the masters... This, of course, inspired me to try
again the next year. In 2000, with Ron running my diet, I came in
ripped to shreds and won a national championship. In 2001 and 2002
with Ron's help, I made the top 5 in the heavyweight class, both
in Halifax and Toronto. Keep in mind the fact that I turned 47 in
October 2002. I would not think of competing without Ron's advice.
In regard to my bodybuilding success, I owe Ron all the credit for
showing me the way.
