I used to see Paul at the gym all the time, but never really got to know him. One day he asked me if I would help him get ready for the 2002 Northern Alberta. I was excited because I knew he had a good physique, but when I really took a look at him, I realized how much potential he had. Paul said he wanted to win, and proved it. He dominated the Middleweights at the Northerns and also won the Overall title. Two weeks later, he captured the Middleweights at the Alberta Provincials. What a fantastic rookie year, for a great guy.
